Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior BI Advanced Analyst I to join our team. This role requires a data scientist with a proven track record of success in designing, developing, and implementing advanced analytics solutions. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the development and implementation of data-driven strategies, working independently on complex projects and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement advanced analytics solutions to address complex business challenges, leveraging statistical modeling, machine learning, and other advanced techniques. 
  • Perform in-depth data analysis, extracting meaningful insights from large and complex datasets using statistical methods and advanced data visualization techniques. 
  • Develop and implement machine learning models to solve business problems and improve decision-making. This includes model selection, training, evaluation, and deployment. 
  • Create compelling data visualizations and reports to effectively communicate complex analysis results and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization. 
  • Take ownership of the monitoring and maintenance of existing advanced analytics solutions, proactively identifying and resolving issues, and ensuring ongoing performance. 
  • Proactively investigate and analyze new data sources and source system changes to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation. 
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and influence data-driven decision-making. 
  • Participate actively in Agile development processes, contributing to team goals and sprint planning. 
  • Mentor and guide junior data analysts, providing support and expertise. 
  • Continuously learn and expand knowledge of data analysis techniques, BI tools, machine learning algorithms, and industry best practices. Proactively seek out opportunities for professional development. 
  • Conduct thorough self-evaluations of project success and identify areas for improvement. 

Critical Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience. 
  • 5+ years of experience in a data analysis or data science role, with a proven track record of successfully designing and implementing advanced analytics solutions. 
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and SAS (or other relevant database and statistical software). 
  • Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (specify tools, e.g., Tableau, Power BI). 
  • Advanced proficiency in data gathering and architecture tools (specify tools). 
  • Advanced understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering), and their application to business problems. 
  • Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in data science (e.g., Python, R). 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations. 
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets. 
  • Experience with Agile frameworks is preferred. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex projects, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. 
  • Proven ability to conduct thorough self-evaluations of project success and identify areas for improvement. 

 

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
