Job Description:

Reporting to Director – Implementation & Infrastructure Management, National, Ensure the delivery of site build and maintenance within the region in collaboration with and as part of the overall implementation process flow from initial engineering and design through to optimization of site in service;  infrastructure to include above ground installation such as towers, antennas, rooftop installations etc.   Support co-location groups as partners in construction.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, coaching and development to construction. project managers and contractors within each zone in the region.
  • Provide resources & expertise to zone leadership for the building and maintenance of infrastructure.
  • Deliver on KPI’s with respect to overall network performance.
  • Lead/Coach team to shift the delivery process from waterfall to iterative
  • Manages, motivates and leads through agile and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Participate in national standard and process creation.
  • Provide support to co-location groups.
  • Create and deliver upon the annual budget, controlling expenses.
  • Accountable for management of contracts with suppliers of equipment and services.
  • Approve purchase orders.
  • Provide reports and control documents relating to site build projects with Primavera or similar project management software.
  • Identify opportunities and implement improved processes, enhance document control.
  • Ensure compliance with environment, health and safety, investigate and resolve issues.
  • Issue various performance reports.

 

Essential skills / Competencies:

  • Post secondary degree in Business, Civil, Construction, Structural design and Engineering,  
  • Construction project leadership in a telecom environment, Lean and  PMP certification
  • Knowledge in process improvement concepts and iterative delivery models (Agile, Scrum, Kanban) 
  • 3-5 years experience in leading teams, preferably in the telecommunications industry,
  • Basic knowledge of wireless network technology,
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Self-sufficient and strong ability to adapt to changing environments.
  • Autonomy, initiative, efficiency, Displayed leadership with coaching and development orientation
  • Excellent time/priority management skills,
  • Ability to motivate others and promote team spirit and employee value, and
  • Knowledge and/or experience in negotiation (dealing with landlord and tenants and customer on legal and financial matters)
  • High level of organization skill, ability to multi-task
  • Decisive, able to assess opportunities and problems and act with judgement, autonomy and appropriate speed.
  • One to challenge status quo, initiator of change, skill in managing teams through change.

 

Preferred skills / Competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written),
  • Understanding of Regulatory affairs is a strong asset
  • Knowledge and experience of Cell Tower location is a strong asset
  • Real Estate & Accounting experience, and
  • Intermediate level or advanced knowledge of Office software: Word, Excel, Access, etc.

 

The candidate may be required to submit to a background check to obtain security clearance. Failure to submit to this check or to obtain a satisfactory rating may limit the projects to which the candidate can be assigned.

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
