Job duties / Accountabilities:

  • Reporting to the Territory Manager – Wireless Access Network Operations, you will be responsible and accountable for the performance of all wireless networks of a specific geographical area (“Zone”). 
  • Working with a dedicated cross-functional team your job will be to initiate, plan, and execute projects to achieve and sustain market leading customer experience (as measured by network performance targets) within the budget envelope provided.

The Zone Leader’s Main tasks will include:

  • Program Delivery [overall accountability to deliver all projects within the zone]
  • Ensure Zone Network Performance [achieve and sustain targeted zone KPI’s]
  • Budgeting / Budget Reporting [work with RF Planner & Regional Planner to find the appropriate investment of capital in the Network]
  • Team Building [promote collaboration, participation and address conflict]
  • Short, Mid and Long Term Planning [work with functional groups to establish project priorities then communicate to the zone team]
  • Ensure proper resource capacity forecasting for all functional groups has been completed and monitored
  • Identify and assess risks and develop contingency measures with the zone team
  • Weekly, monthly, quarterly Zone status reporting
  • Process Analysis and Improvement [foster a culture of continuous improvement within the zone and drive cycle time reductions]


Essential skills / Competencies:

  • Knowledge of wireless networks [function, performance measures, build considerations, etc]
  • Proven project management, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and willingness to take the initiative with a talent for motivating others and promoting team spirit
  • Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to others and build rapport inside and outside the organization
  • Established track record in the co-ordination of cross functional and virtual teams
  • Well-honed business analysis and process development skills with a demonstrated commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good oral and written communication/presentation skills, including the ability to produce professionally written and engaging reports for varying audiences
  • Critical thinking skills with a demonstrated judgement to know relevant questions to ask and assemble the right individuals to provide responsive solutions
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office software: Word, Excel, Access, etc
  • Knowledge of TPS (The Toyota Production System) a definite asset
  • Manages, motivates and leads through agile methodology with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Lead/Coach team to adapt the delivery process for waterfall or iterative as required
  • Participate and support national standards and process creation
