We are seeking a highly motivated finance professional to join our dynamic Consolidated Planning team, where you will play a pivotal role in our Finance Operations department. This individual will be responsible for consolidating and communicating comprehensive financial forecasts while providing insightful analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical accounting background, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to gather input, challenge assumptions, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, analyzing variances against budget and forecast, and providing clear explanations for deviations.
- Present financial performance insights to senior management, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities to drive informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate the financial impact of new business initiatives, product launches, and strategic investments.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress against goals, identifying areas for improvement.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of complex financial models to forecast future business outcomes, incorporating various assumptions and sensitivity analyses.
- Address ad hoc requests and contribute to special projects as assigned by providing timely and accurate analysis and support for critical business initiatives.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the planning and forecasting function.
- Mentor and develop junior members of the broader Consolidation Team, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth.
Critical Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential for this finance manager role.
- Experience in financial planning, forecasting, and analysis is required.
- Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining complex financial models using Excel.
- Strong understanding of technical accounting principles, including GAAP.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in database management and data analysis techniques.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization is necessary.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and analyze complex financial issues.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, specifically SAP, is a plus for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an industry relevant to our business, such as technology, is highly desirable.
- Experience with implementing and managing planning and forecasting software solutions would be helpful.
- Understanding of corporate finance principles, including valuation, capital budgeting, and risk management, is an asset.
- Knowledge of macroeconomic trends and their potential impact on financial performance is useful.
- Familiarity with data mining techniques and tools to extract insights from large datasets is advantageous.
- Experience with process automation tools and techniques to improve efficiency is a plus.
Additional Requirements
- The candidate must be actively pursuing their Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or already possess it.
- Experience with financial consolidation processes and intercompany accounting is an important part of this finance manager role.
