Bell is a leading telecommunications company at the forefront of technological advancements. We're seeking a talented NLP and GenAI Data Scientist to join our growing AI team and play a pivotal role in developing next-generation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, train, and deploy NLP models for various applications within the telecommunications domain. This could include tasks like sentiment analysis, topic modeling, chatbot development, and more.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, product managers, and data analysts to translate business needs into actionable NLP solutions.
- Explore and implement cutting-edge Generative AI (GenAI) techniques to create innovative applications for our telecommunications services.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of NLP models, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
- Participate in research initiatives to stay ahead of the curve in NLP and GenAI advancements.
- Clearly document your work and present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Critical Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Linguistics, or a related field (PhD preferred).
- Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI (GenAI) technology, including but not limited to OpenAI API, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Langchain, and HuggingFace Transformers.
- Research, design, build, and train innovative applications of LLMs.
- Proficient in Python programming, with experience utilizing data manipulation libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
- Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries for data analysis and manipulation. Experience working with various SQL databases, including but not limited to MySQL, PostgreSQL, and BigQuery. Understanding of relational database concepts and data modeling is essential.
- Proven experience in designing, training, and deploying NLP models using frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and their application in NLP tasks.
- Experience with version control (Git) and testing methodologies (unit/integration)
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs for backend applications, with a strong focus on data-centric services
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- A passion for innovation and a strong desire to push the boundaries of NLP with GenAI.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within the telecommunications industry.
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms like GCP, AWS or Azure.
- Familiarity with GenAI techniques like text generation, summarization, or machine translation.
- Experience with prompt engineering
