To evolve and keep up with current market trends, the Accessories Team is seeking a Product Manager that will develop the product strategy and management of the Audio, Power, and IoT (Internet of Things) categories for all Bell retail channels. This dynamic portfolio offers a variety of products that add value to the overall mobile experience. The Product Manager will play a pivotal role in executing the overall strategy while managing profit and loss in their respective product categories.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Working with Senior Manager, Wireless Accessories, to develop a meaningful assortment of products based on customer needs, market insights and analytical data, such as POS, margin, and turn rates etc. to increase value for the consumer, customer and the company
  • Manage pricing and promotions to maximize sales and margin to meet or exceed targets
  • Negotiate terms and supplier agreements to achieve most favoured terms and provisions
  • Manage the competitive review process and conduct thorough analysis within the sales channels
  • Examine any growth opportunities within the sales channels, present findings to senior management with a plan on how to use those opportunities to leverage increased revenue and profitability
  • Monitors product mix listing to ensure timely acquisition of products, appropriate replenishment, suggest changes in purchasing and provide solutions to minimize the impact of backorders and maximizes sales and inventory turns
  • Create weekly, monthly and YTD sales and margin reports and completes ongoing analysis and quarterly reviews to maximize category opportunities 
  • Conducts store visits and competitive stores to gain learning on category assortments and sales rep feedback
  • Perform ongoing research to become the subject matter expert on the latest trends.
  • Develop a variety of product roadmap presentations and own the merchandising priority for the category
  • Responsible for the life cycle of existing and new products. 
  • Project manage a variety of projects aimed to enhance the customer experience in-store and online. 
  • Work with the Inventory teams to ensure sufficient levels of inventory is available at the warehouse and in channel

 

Requirements and Skills:

  • Post-secondary education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Retail, Marketing
  • 3 to 5 years of Category management, Product Management,  Retail Buying or merchandising experience
  • Experience in Wireless Tele-communication products is an asset but not a hard requirement
  • Courtesy, tact and diplomacy are required in dealing with colleagues in every day working relationships 
  • Advanced negotiation, persuasive and communication skills to secure favorable category plans
  • Self-motivated and demonstrated initiative
  • Able to work and excel in a fast-paced work environment 
  • Provides solutions by using imaginative approaches where constructive thinking and innovation are required. 
  • Utilizes decision making skills to achieve specific organizational objectives with consideration given to their impact on other work groups
  • Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions. Able to work with diverse personalities and styles
  • Understanding of quality standards relative to merchandising, marketing and promotional practices and procedures
  • Computer literacy in Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
