Summary

 

We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified individual to lead the network security integration  of our Public Safety and Instant Communication products to align with Bell security standards, working with internal and external teams toward the vision of Bell being recognized as the best Public Safety network provider, because lives depend on it.

 

As a Senior Specialist Security Architect, you will work with and influence industry standards; lead the design, deployment and support of new products, features and technologies that compose our Public Safety portfolio. You will focus on driving the security and cybersecurity strategic direction, compliance,  solution building, platform selection, architecture planning, business case analysis, testing and process documentation, while collaborating with a cross functional team to transforming vison into reality.

In this position, being an outside the box-thinker and strong collaborator is critical for you as well as the whole team to succeed. This opportunity is hands-on with the team in creating the vision for our solutions in the Public Safety domain. Having an engineering or computer-science background, awareness of DevOps and Agile methodologies and a drive for solving business needs will help you fit right in.
 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Perform all phases of security solution architecture as assigned; review plans and specifications; recommend supplier, contractor and hardware/software as appropriate; provide timelines for implementation to projects along with cost estimates necessary to allow development of financing options; inspect and evaluate completed projects to ensure compliance.
  • Liaising with vendors to implement security solutions for  Bell Mobility Public Safety customers
  • Participate in project delivery, embracing the agile methodology and associated toolsets.
  • Generate high level and low level  security architecture and design documentation including conceptual design , physical design , logical design , as-built diagrams, knowledge transfer materials and transition to operation needs
  • Develop long term strategic architecture to ensure security solution meets current and future requirements
  • Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements
  • Works with subject matter experts from vendors such as Motorola, Genesis, Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, and Fortinet, to assess and develop mitigation measures to ensure that appropriate security treatment and configuration hardening is applied, and ensure that customers are informed.
  • Liaises with Bell Corporate Security to ensure compliance with corporate security standards
  • Provides general guidance and recommendations on security best practices.
  • Work with internal teams at the national level to facilitate knowledge sharing and co-operation on security threats and concerns.
  • Provide technical leadership and security consulting to Bell Mobility Public Safety operations and project teams.
  • Support management of cyber security incidents and other security-related issues for Public Safety services.

Critical Qualifications

 

  • Completion of University or College program in Computer Science or Engineering; or 5 years of equivalent.
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of all aspects of data, computer and network security, including such areas as firewall administration, encryption technologies  and network protocols
  • Hands-on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, etc
  • Advanced understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with Fortinet, Juniper and Cisco networking and security equipment’s 
  • Advanced understanding of network infrastructure, computer hardware, and enterprise architectures
  • In depth expertise in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), Switching architecture and protocols (VLAN’s, Trunking and Spanning Tree)
  • Ability to accurately scope security technology requirements and objectives as well as effort and difficulty of project tasks
  • Ability to interact with teams and individuals with a wide range of security understanding to explain and ensure alignment on security measures
  • Able to complete a Security Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTM) and map requirements to a future state design.
  • Experience with assessing, designing, implementing, and documenting security solutions and processes to meet compliance requirements
  • Experience with cyber-security methodologies and architectures as well as security event management
  • Experience with troubleshooting security solutions including authentication capabilities, authorization, and encryption as well as securing devices access.
  • Familiar with management security consoles, intrusion detection and prevention, and virtual private networks. 
  • Experience in SOC integration, Syslog and security information management system (SIEM) 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Knowledge of security information events management.
  • Experience with Firewall Administration, Rule Analysis, Rule Modification
  • Knowledge of security technologies of the following functions: Firewalls, VPN, IPS/IDS, vulnerability management, WAF, DDoS mitigation, PKI 
  • Cellular and radio network specific security experience is an  asset 
  • VMware VSphere. Windows and Linux admin experience 
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory and radius authentication 
  • Demonstrated experience with technical security controls and countermeasures to contemporary threats in an enterprise environment.
  • Ability to interpret vulnerability scan reports and mitigate risks
  • Experience in securing operating systems, firewalls, networks, systems, databases and application architectures
  • Industry recognized certifications for such as CISSP would be an asset
  • Demonstrated experience managing and troubleshooting security services.
  • Efficient at use of Microsoft VISIO/Office as technical documentation and presentation tools.
