About the position:

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Technical Architecture, you will join a skilled team of Solution Architects whose primary responsibility is supporting our sales teams in the development of superior and innovative application and technology-centric solutions across the Data Centre and Cloud product portfolio to meet the needs of our customers.


Through a thoughtful and disciplined approach, you will directly gather and understand a customer’s full technical and business requirements and combine them into a technical design and architecture.  Using this solution blueprint, you will itemize all solution components, and dependencies, creating an end-to-end solution that can be presented clearly and concisely to all stakeholders.


You will continuously leverage and strengthen your leadership and communication skills by participating in customer meetings and presentations - leading the discussion for various solution elements and technical design, articulating how your solution delivers on the customer’s objectives.


You will use continuously challenge yourself to grow your technical and professional knowledge by seeking out learning opportunities and growing your network of valued technical and professional relationships. 

You will be the customer advocate and technical authority for your solutions to all internal stakeholders and will actively seek feedback, consensus, and support to ensure solutions are fully supported, repeatable, scalable, and reduce overhead and complexity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading a customer through technical discovery, design, and validation, helping customers realize the benefits of Bell’s full Data Centre and Cloud capabilities
  • Providing assessments of current state architecture and recommending future state architecture
  • Being a Customer Advocate and Trusted Advisor at all times
  • Support the Sales and Marketing strategy for the National Data Centre Practice
  • Maintain technical and operational level expertise for all products within the portfolio
  • Assist in responding to RFI, RFP’s, Technical assessments, etc
  • Work closely with the Product team for technical input on new products and assisting with training for new product introductions
  • Attend training and industry conferences when required
  • Assist in the technical training and boarding of new employees


Critical Competencies:

  • Experience in traditional Data Centre as well as Private and Public Cloud solutions
  • Strong understanding of the design inputs that drive traditional 3-tier architecture as well as Converged, Hyper-converged, and Cloud solutions
  • Strong understanding of common IT technologies, platforms, applications, as well as industry best practices, and reference architectures
  • Strong understating of IT transformation initiatives within the industry
  • Strong understanding of data migration, disaster recovery and backup technologies and design
  • Knowledge of architectural approaches including, cloud computing, virtualization, DR/BCP, data replication, information management, etc
  • Strategic and critical thinker with the ability to adapt in an environment that is highly dynamic and competitive
  • Ability to keep up to date on industry trends with the Data Centre, Cloud, and OEM Solutions
  • Ability to understand client business directions and priorities to help build strategies within the context of data center, cloud, and digital technology solutions
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication


Preferred Competencies:

  • Previous experience as a Solution Architect, or similar, in a customer facing role
  • Preferred experience in selling Co-location, Cloud, Managed Infrastructure, and Professional Services
  • Certifications in solution design within public cloud platforms (i.e. Azure, AWS, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of sales cadence and business inputs
  • Strong understanding of common business applications supporting enterprise and SMB customers




Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
