Job Summary

The Workforce Planner will be responsible for optimizing labor efficiency and effectiveness across retail channels. This role involves developing optimized labor schedules based on various data points, including traffic, sales, and employee requirements, with a strong focus on budget utilization and productivity management. The Workforce Planner will collaborate closely with store teams to ensure retail channels are adequately staffed to meet peak demands and forecasts, driving operational excellence and maximizing performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and analyze labor efficiencies and identify opportunities for optimization
  • Create optimized labor schedules by analyzing data including store traffic, sales forecasts, and employee skill sets to meet business needs
  • Contribute to P&L management by ensuring efficient labor allocation and cost control
  • Partner with store and regional leadership to align labour strategies with business objectives and maximize performance against peak demand periods
  • Conduct regular reporting and analysis of labor KPIs, identifying trends and areas for improvement
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail channel partners to ensure effective implementation of workforce plans
  • Manage and execute workforce planning processes, ensuring adherence to company policies and best practices
  • Prepare presentations and reports for stakeholders, effectively communicating insights and recommendations

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in retail, workforce planning, labor management, or a related analytical role
  • Strong understanding of labor efficiency, optimization techniques, and scheduling best practices
  • Proficiency in data analysis, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights
  • Experience with workforce management platforms considered an asset (i.e. StoreForce, DayForce)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling
  • Command of the Microsoft Office Suite & MS365 (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.  Proven ability to influence
  • Strong presentation and summary material building abilities
  • Adept at process management and implementing continuous improvement
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Experience with SharePoint is an asset


Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
