GDI Group works with several operational teams: the control center which manages job load and field technicians, the forecasting team which produces job load forecast and the scheduling team that manage schedules for technicians and internal employee.


This position is ideal for anyone seeking a dynamic and stimulating work environment. The candidate must have knowledge of server management and troubleshooting, as well as a strong interest in cybersecurity and cloud computing.

Job Duties / Accountabilities

  • Ensure system availability and stability; perform troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Configure and deploy applications, adhering to user-defined availability windows for application uptime
  • Remediate system vulnerabilities; apply patches in a test environment before deploying to production
  • Verify backups, manage storage, purge temporary information, create and test disaster recovery plans (DRP)
  • Manage system access according to environments and user categories, in compliance with company security policies
  • Plan the system lifecycle in collaboration with infrastructure architects
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of system applications and configurations

Essential Qualifications / Competencies

  • College Studies in Computer Science or relevant experience
  • Solid understanding of Windows Server, SQL Server, and IIS administration
  • Keen eye for detail and precision
  • Team-oriented, dynamic, and highly motivated
  • Ability to handle responsibilities, make rapid decisions, and consistently meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills for analysis and problem resolution
  • Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
  • Strong organizational, planning, and priority management skills
  • Knowledge of English without any significant limitation. In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada

Preferred Qualifications / Competencies

  • Experience with Windows Server 2016 or later
  • Experience with SQL Server 2016 or later
  • Knowledge of Linux
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes containers and the CI/CD process
  • Experience with SQL, PowerShell and DOS command programming languages
  • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI)
  • Knowledge of SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) cubes (OLAP)
  • Knowledge of operational group processes

Working Conditions

  • Occasional non-standard hours required for system maintenance
  • Occasional overtime depending on the business needs
