Name and description of the hiring department
Bell Wholesale provides national and international customers—including inter-exchange carriers, local exchange carriers, wireless service providers, resellers, ISPs, utelcos, and cablecos—with industry-leading voice, broadband, and IP solutions across Canada and to key points in the United States.
The Carrier Relations team supports Bell’s purchasing requirements in Canada and internationally. It negotiates rates, service levels, and sourcing contracts for a variety of products and services. The Voice Trade Desk, a group within Carrier Relations, manages the exchange (buy/sell) of both domestic and international voice traffic.
Job Duties / Accountabilities
The Associate, Computer Application Support acts as an intermediary between system developers and users. Responsibilities include;
- Testing system or internal component failures as well as application issues, including conflicts and/or improvements between related systems
- Training and assisting users on application processes
- Proactively monitoring applications and systems for end users
- Providing support on various applications and systems
- Analyze business data to identify significant trends and useful insights
- Develop and maintain clear reports and dashboards using Excel, Power BI, and databases to track performance
- Perform and/or coordinate testing: determine and validate data, create commands, validate test cases, and document results
- Maintain or modify applications/servers according to specific (user/technical) requirements
- Verify and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial records
- Generate, validate, and analyze status reports
- Create, review, and archive application support documentation
Essential Qualifications / Competencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, Power Query, Excel Power Pivot, and databases for complex tasks
- Good understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL
- Ability to write SQL queries (joins, subqueries, aggregation functions) for data extraction, validation, and analysis
- Knowledge of English required
- As part of the job, this person will be required to produce documents in French & English
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with colleagues and managers
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Working Conditions
- Standard work schedule; Monday to Friday normal business hours
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
