Short Description
Reporting to the Senior manager, disability management, Bell is seeking an experienced Advisor within its Employee services team to manage occupational injury and prolonged disability absence files. This key role involves the administrative and medical management of cases, facilitating employees’ safe return to work, and coordinating medical accommodations. You will be responsible for gathering information from employees, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders, representing the employer throughout all appeal stages, and collaborating with internal and external teams (human resources, labour telations, legal, health & safety) to find solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Full management of occupational injury files, prolonged disability cases, and medical accommodation requests across Canada.
- Analysis of medical information and data collection through communications with employees, workers’ compensation boards (e.g., cost relief requests, appeals), managers, healthcare professionals, and external stakeholders.
- Determination of the need for medical assessments (e.g., scheduling independent medical examinations, preparing mandates) and representation of the employer throughout all appeal processes.
- Support for employees during their reintegration, including coordination of return‑to‑work arrangements and accommodation measures.
- Cross‑team collaboration to identify and implement effective and sustainable return‑to‑work solutions.
- Participation in continuous improvement projects aimed at optimizing processes, ensuring compliance, and improving operational efficiency.
Critical Qualifications
- CEGEP diploma or university degree (Industrial relations, human resources, health‑related field, or related discipline).
- 2 to 5 years of experience managing occupational injury and disability files.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
- Strong judgment, discretion, organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant provincial laws and regulations (an asset).
- Knowledge of SIGMA‑HR, SAP, and ServiceNow software (an asset).
- Knowledge and use of artificial intelligence tools (an asset).
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
