Summary

Lead the development and governance of Bell Media’s news and information projects, particularly for its CRAVE platform, by overseeing the preparation and monitoring of projects and productions, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines and deliverables, and acting as a point of contact with internal production teams and production partners, under the supervision of the senior manager of News and Information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of news and information content for Bell Media’s various platforms, including CRAVE, by preparing the required research, summaries, benchmarks, and intent documents; by structuring project sheets; and by proposing preliminary operational parameters in accordance with defined guidelines
  • Manage and supervise internal and external teams that contribute to productions (direction, research, stage crews, post-production, technicians), plan for logistical and technical needs, organize bookings, and ensure that the resources needed for the filming and delivery of the expected elements are available
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, monitor deliverables, compile statuses, record operational issues, send reminders and recommendations for adjustments, and ensure the rapid escalation of risks and deviations to the senior manager
  • Prepare the elements required for preliminary analyses (needs estimates, initial cost structures provided by production, relevant comparative data, proof of eligibility for tax credits where applicable), consolidate documentation, and transmit the information in accordance with established templates and methods
  • Organize project follow-up meetings (launch, production milestones, progress updates), prepare the agenda and supporting documentation, and write and distribute meeting minutes and required actions to the relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure the maintenance, quality, and archiving of official project documentation (versions, approvals, deliverables, reports) in compliance with the current methods and tools and ensure that the operational dashboards are systematically updated. Prepare the summaries, sheets, and documents needed for the internal validation stages, gather the requested information, record decisions, and ensure that subsequent corrections, adjustments and deliverables are followed up on in compliance with the received guidelines
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development and production processes by applying the defined templates, monitoring tools and grids; by formulating operational observations; and by supporting methods aimed at increasing production capacity and the quality of execution
  • Participate in the identification, hiring and functional supervision of external resources (freelancers, suppliers, production partners), ensuring follow-up on assigned mandates, the quality of the deliverables, and compliance with deadlines and established contractual and operational parameters, in accordance with internal policies and applicable provisions
  • Perform any other related tasks to support the news and information development plan on Crave

Critical Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, television production, journalism, film or other relevant field

Experience: 3 to 6 years in production (television, documentary, digital) or in media project coordination, including demonstrated experience in operational management in the field (filming/set/post-production)

Knowledge: Understanding of production budgets and basic administrative parameters (including, as an asset, familiarity with the principles of tax credit eligibility)

Qualifications:

    • Exemplary organization and rigour, management of multiple projects and tight deadlines
    • Proficiency in collaborative and monitoring tools (Office 365, Teams, SharePoint, tracking spreadsheets)
    • Ability to structure information and produce complete professional documents that comply with templates
    • Operational judgment, proactiveness, sense of priorities, reliability in execution
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with production teams and ability to work under pressure
    • Demonstrates a foundational understanding of AI and its applications; stays curious, recognizes ethical implications, and uses AI-enabled tools to enhance everyday work

Language:

    • In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada
    • As part of the job, this person will be required to produce documents in French & English

 

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
