The Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) team is responsible to build, maintain and operate Bell Network Infrastructure. Specifically, the Infrastructure as a Service team is responsible of delivering different services (Kubernetes, OpenStack, VMWare, Storage…) with an end to end connectivity.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Alignment with internal partners, Strategy team and IaaS DevOps teams to ensure the technology evolves as per new requirements
  • Develop recommendations/guidelines to enable optimal deployment of IaaS products
  • Develop, communicate and action a 3 year roadmap in collaboration with partners, strategy and IaaS DevOps team (Open Stack, Generic cloud, NFVi, CNFi, VMWare, Storage, hybrid clouds, etc)
  • Lead RFP from a technical perspective during vendor selection
  • Prioritize feature and task with the dev-ops product team (team that support, develop and operate the IaaS products)
  • Capacity planning to ensure smooth evolution as tenants needs grow
  • Participate to next year budget and 3-year budget planning
  • CAPEX / OPEX analysis and management to ensure we drive our cost down
  • Manage relationship with key vendors and partners to ensure products evolves as per our business needs
  • Evaluate technology options and prioritize based on tenant needs and overall strategy
  • Work in close collaboration with strategy team to execute testing of new technologies
  • Conduct and plan pre-production trials when needed
  • Ensure to follow new technology introduction process and optimize it when required
  • Analyze, design and implement new solutions to support Infrastructure evolution
  • Present technical subject to various audience (Technical, management and executive)
  • Researching, testing and analyzing (including cost/revenue analysis) new infrastructure  products that provide enhanced capacity, better system performance and lower cost
  • Contribute to implement good software development practices: continuous integration (CI), continuous deployment (CD), static code analysis, test automation (TDD), etc.
  • Actively participate to implement DevOps concepts.
  • Define requirements and specifications with internal groups in an Agile setting (Epics and User Stories)
  • Perform the technology watch; contribute to the strategy and evolution of existing services, as well as future architecture evolution


Critical Competencies:

  • BS Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Science
  • 5-10 years of experience as architect in network or IT
  • Experience in programming(GO, python)
  • Experience to write code to automate processes and orchestrate deployments (Ansible) and manage code (GIT, SVN etc)
  • Being an expert in one or more subject below
    • Very god understanding of Linux (Ubuntu)
    • Very god understanding of OpenStack
    • Very god understanding of Storage
    • Very god understanding of public clouds and hybrid clouds
    • Very god understanding of Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of Networking
  • Have a good understanding of the network function virtualization (NFVi and CNFi)
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with a good sense of humour
  • Team player who always put the interest of the team above all other priorities
  • Strong aptitude to recognize opportunities for improvement in day-to-day work
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills and work ethic (highly motivated) to manage multiple projects/accountabilities
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills: Able to simplify and teach complex concepts to various audiences (engineers, technicians, executives)
  • Strong technical leadership and result oriented
  • Ability to motivate people to participate in various development projects
  • Innovative (visionary) thinking approach to problem solving


Additional Competencies:

  • Agile / DevOps / Lean / Six Sigma experience
  • Experience in building infrastructure
  • Network certification
  • Bilingual (French/English)


Bilingualism is required (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
