Summary
We are seeking a seasoned security professional to join our Executive Security Services team as a Senior Specialist. In this role, you will lead executive protection and event security operations, ensuring the safety of our leadership and high-profile engagements. This position requires exceptional judgment, advanced risk management expertise, and the ability to deliver comprehensive security strategies in dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Executive Security Services and Event Programs, responsibilities include, but not limited to, completion and tracking all incident and event reports, completing and implementing site advance, threat / travel risk assessments, and operational plans as required
Executive Security Duties
- Conduct security advance of all venues and locations (hotels, event spaces, etc.) where feasible, prior to operational deployment
- Implement protection processes and resources with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Conduct ongoing threat assessments using open-source intelligence and travel intelligence tools
- Leverage protective technologies to support planning, situational awareness, and real-time decision-making
- Contract and manage third-party security providers
- Maintain relationships with industry counterparts and law enforcement as applicable to stay informed of evolving threats
- Ensure all protection activities align with corporate risk appetite, privacy expectations, and reputational considerations
Event Security Duties
- Create operational security plans for Bell events, including domestic and international engagements with an executive presence (e.g., Olympics, conferences, board meetings) and update as required
- Conduct pre-event risk assessments and post-event after action reports to ensure alignment with corporate risk appetite and continuous improvement
- Coordinate with event organizers, venues, and law enforcement to ensure comprehensive security coverage
- Implement operational security considerations for high-profile guests of the CEO and executive team, including liaison with visiting close protection teams and VIP protocols
- Raise awareness of risks to executives and intellectual property at events and define mitigation strategies
- Assist as required with on site vehicle logistics for Bell executives and employees during events when security requirements apply
- Monitor the evolving threat landscape related to events and adjust planning accordingly
Program Management Duties
- Apply agile and fluid methodologies to plan, execute, and evaluate executive protection and event security operations
- Report and track program performance using metrics and reporting tools to assess effectiveness and risk exposure
Critical Qualifications
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience on a Dignitary or Executive close protection detail, with a strong emphasis on risk management and program oversight
- Demonstrated experience executing complex close protection and event operational planning, including site advances for high-profile events, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Deep understanding of risk management frameworks, threat assessment methodologies, and protective intelligence
- Proven ability to work in a cross-functional team and engage third-party vendors and contractors
- Exceptional judgment and discretion, particularly in high-pressure or sensitive situations
- Outstanding and demonstrated communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to senior executives and their teams, build trust, and influence outcomes
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Ability to travel occasionally and work flexible hours based on executive protection team deployment requirements (site advance, close protection and partner agency meetings), executive schedules and event requirements
- Advanced First Aid / CPR +AED
Preferred Qualifications
- Executive protection and security certifications (i.e.: Police, military, government, CSD, CPP, etc.)
- Project management certifications (CSM, PRINCE2, PMP, etc.)
- Experience in a major global or national organization
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
