Name and description of the hiring department

The Managed Services Team are looking for motivated team members to join our L2 team in the delivery, operations, innovation and evolution of our network services domain. You will be working on the MISN service for our largest Managed Services customer that Bell supports.

Main Job Duties / Accountabilities

  • Provide support to various Managed Services customers (includes MACDs, incidents, changes and projects)
  • Work closely with L3 support to resolve complex incidents
  • Provide the necessary support to ensure all SLAs are met
  • Participate in onboarding process for new clients
  • Manage services related to the customer while following Bell Canada processes, tools and best practices
  • Must be able to attend customer meetings and clearly identify and communicate various items within Bell’s obligations
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports as required
  • Create and maintain customer and internal technical documentation and databases
  • As needed, act as the customer’s point of contact and handle recurring problems. Follows up on the status of projects, releases into production and requests for service from the customer, with members of his or her team
  • Identify and propose improvement to processes
  • Participate in different internal initiatives
  • Keep up with emerging telecommunication technology
  • Possessing a valid IP certification (e.g. CCNA), or in the process of achieving it, will be of benefit in carrying out duties and accountabilities

Prerequisite

  • Candidates who are part of the Craft and Services bargaining unit must have;
    • A college diploma in electronics or telecommunications, or equivalent work experience
    • At least one current IP certification (CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, Juniper, etc.), or in the process of achieving it, or equivalent IP specific knowledge
  • Candidates from outside the Craft and Services bargaining unit must have:
    • A college diploma in electronics or telecommunications, or equivalent work experience
    • A minimum of a high school diploma
    • At least one current IP certification (CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, Juniper, etc.) or equivalent IP specific knowledge
  • Fluent in English and French
    • In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada
  • As necessary, agree to undergo a background security check to meet a customer’s clearance requirement

Essential Qualifications / Skills

  • Basic knowledge in multi-protocol network interconnection service provision and/or delivery as a front-line technician
  • Intermediate knowledge of network protocols, network management systems and LAN and WAN systems
  • Intermediate knowledge of Ethernet & TCP/IP
  • Basic knowledge on ITIL practices
  • Intermediate knowledge on at least 2 of the following products:
    • Cisco networking products
    • F5, networking products
    • Fortinet networking products
    • HP networking products
    • Juniper/MIST networking products
    • Meraki networking products

Essential Qualifications / Skills (continued)

  • Basic knowledge on at least 1 of the following technology:
    • RIP
    • OSPF
    • BGP
    • MPLS
    • security
    • wireless services
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to make decisions promptly and manage risks while under pressure
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Working Conditions

This is a 24/7 operation. The candidate will be called upon to work variable schedules according to business needs (schedules within a given day are prepared by the Company with due consideration to seniority), to participate in a standby program and work overtime as needed. Available and flexible to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays as needed.


Note that many working conditions are subject to terms outlined in the collective agreement.

 

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
