Reports to: Sr. Facilities Manager

Location: Dome Productions - Oakville Fieldshop

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Working Conditions: After hour and weekend support as required.


Position Overview:

The Shipper/Receiver role will ensure all inbound and outbound packages, related to all Dome facilities, Fleet, Engineering and Logistics are received and shipped out promptly and efficiently using cost effective methods based on operational needs and requirements.



  • Track, log, set up all inbound and outbound shipments for all departments that are not job related
  • Establish strong relationships with outside shipping vendors
  • Alert departments and individuals when delays are encountered and provide updates and solutions to meet expectations
  • Ensure building is secure around the courier and shipping doors and freight is kept in a secure location to prevent theft or damage
  • Maintain an organized, clean, work environment while supporting the (3) departments operational needs
  • Be up to date with new shipping technologies, software tools and protocols to ensure all shipments travel in a timely manner while ensuring all custom documentation is filled in properly and accurately
  • Keep shipping supplies stocked and inventoried using the vimbiz software
  • Use cost effective practices when securing a vendor for shipping in order to support departmental budgets across North America
  • Must be able to obtain competitive quotes in a professional manner and negotiate for what is best for the business
  • Recommend alternative shipping solutions
  • Be able to react to shipping issues and provide reasonable resolutions to the management team during and after hours
  • Support and provide accurate and timely quotes for RFP’s and Production shows on a daily basis.
  • Keep monthly budgetary data for each department for movement of their gear
  • Schedule shipping vehicles ( Revu, Uplander, Utility Van) to ensure access is available to our Logistics team to provide delivery options when called upon as well as fleet and engineering needs when required to pick up parts or supplies from local vendors



  • 1-3 years in a Shipping/ Receiver role
  • Broadcast/equipment background preferred
  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft word, excel
  • Sound Knowledge of various shipping vendors and their capabilities
  • Positive work ethic
  • Strong organizational skills, detailed oriented and ability to prioritize
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to be flexible
  • Customer Service Skills a definite
  • Ability to negotiate
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills


Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
