Summary
Reporting to the Vice President, Public Sector Sales within Bell Business Markets, we are seeking a senior customer-facing technology leader to drive advanced solutions sales within the public sector. This pivotal role demands a deep understanding of the public sector landscape and expertise in solution selling. The Director, Advanced Solutions Sales will lead a team, develop strategic initiatives, and achieve revenue targets through effective solution design and sales strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Acts as a senior technical advisor to C-level stakeholders during sales and business development. Helps shape large, strategic deals by contextualizing the vendor's technology in the customer’s enterprise architecture
- Delivers keynote speeches, participates in panels, and engages with the market as a public-facing technical authority. Publishes white papers, blogs, or position pieces aligning market trends with the company’s technology vision
- Channels strategic customer feedback to product and engineering teams. Advocates for roadmap enhancements based on real-world needs of Public Sector customers
- Leads a team of solution architects and business development sales executives overseeing the design of complex, scalable, and secure solutions.
- Builds long-term relationships with CIOs, CISOs, and CTOs. Advises on digital transformation, modernization strategies, security architectures, and innovation paths.
- Lead a cross-functional team responsible for major pursuits, RFP/RFI responses, technical solution validation, and partner integration. Drive opportunity framing, compliance strategy, financial modeling, and architecture reviews.
- Lead and coach deal resources (architects, and specialists, and others) to ensure delivery of compliant, innovative, cost-competitive solutions. Evolve deal governance practices, solution playbooks, and deal review rituals to ensure consistency and scalability while ensuring agility.
- Build and operationalize partner consortiums for large-scale engagements. Own partner messaging and integration strategy for major joint solutions.
- Shape Bell’s public sector technology narrative through briefings, whitepapers, and forums. Represent Bell in industry discussions related to all areas of Bell’s activities, network, security, collaboration, cloud & datacenter, data sovereignty, cyber resilience, and transformation programs.
- Stay informed about public sector procurement processes, regulations, and industry trends and recommend strategic adjustments to maintain a competitive edge
- Develop comprehensive sales strategies:
- Achieve revenue targets within the public sector for advanced solutions
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within public sector organizations
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and networking within the public sector
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to senior management, ensuring transparency and accountability
- Present compelling solutions demonstrations and proposals to public sector clients, highlighting value and differentiation
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with public sector clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies governing sales activities within the public sector
Critical Quailfications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is essential
- Minimum of ten years of experience in sales, with a focus on advanced solutions within the public sector is a must
- Technical experience; strong communication and executive presence, industry specialization or domain expertise (e.g., network, cybersecurity, AI, cloud architecture)
- Strong storytelling skills, and the ability to align product vision with customer strategy, as well as experience working with large, complex organizations
- Deep understanding of public sector procurement processes, regulations, and funding mechanisms is essential
- Strong understanding of solution selling methodologies and techniques, with the ability to articulate value propositions
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence key decision-makers
- Proficiency in using CRM software such as Salesforce, as well as other sales and marketing automation tools is required
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and execute effective sales plans are important
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
