The Bell IT team uses emerging technologies, Agile and DevOps to design and build innovative solutions that enable Bell’s communications services for businesses and consumers. The Information Technology team develops and maintains Bell’s internal systems and applications while also developing integrated technology solutions for customers across all lines of business.  The team manages Bell’s IT Infrastructure and the service availability of over 700 applications, including mission critical billing and service systems. The IT delivery teams drive the IT Work Program with over 60% of IT capital invested in initiatives that support business unit priorities and Bell’s strategic imperatives.

 

Job duties / accountabilities:

  • Gather, clarify and document the business requirements
  • Documenting use cases
  • Analyzing business requirements and working with the Senior Architect and/or Developers to ensure the solution meets the business requirements
  • May facilitate workshops or meetings with the client (stakeholders) are project team members
  • Works with the Client, IT Architect, Vendor and Developers to identify, analyze and recommend alternative solutions
  • Ensure that the solution meets the business requirements.
  • Contribute to Test Strategy and Plan
  • Prepare,  Execute and Validate Test Cases
  • Defect Management – Identify, fix, retest, track
  • Ensure through business system testing and risk assessments that client’s requirements as defined are met
  • May assume role of Test Manager
  • May contribute to process and training documentation

 

Essential Skills / Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint,)
  • Absolute ability to see the business problem to drive and innovate the business solution, all through the eyes of the Business.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage ambiguous situations
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work at a detailed level and quickly learn business application specific details

 

Preferred Skills /Competencies:

  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst
  • Business Analyst Certification.
  • Post-secondary business degree with a computer science focus or equivalent, and/or computer science degree with a business focus
  • Strong knowledge of BRS Products, Contact Centers and Residential Sales Channels
  • Previous knowledge or experience in IT

 

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to efficiently work in virtual teams, handling multiple projects and aggressive timelines
  • Fast paced, changing working environment, interfacing with a myriad of stakeholders
  • Available  to work occasional weekends and evenings to meet hard deadlines
  • Able to work over night during project deployments
  • Full time teleworking not an option

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
