Job Description

Job Title: Engineering Technician, Bell Media, Unifor Local 2000
Company: Bell Media INC.
Job Status: Regular—Full-time
Location: Bell Media, Terrace, B.C.

Responsibilities:

  • With the support of the General Manager and the Chief Engineer, you will:
  • Provide support to radio and TV stations in terms of equipment maintenance and installation of radio/TV station facilities
  • Assist with facility upgrades that meet building and equipment requirements
  • Test and repair analog and digital circuits, radio/TV transmitters and receivers
  • Repair, maintain and troubleshoot satellite equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair systems for radio/TV transmission or reception, and may be required to work in restricted or close quarters
  • Demonstrate flexibility with the schedule to respond to emergency repair needs
  • Be required to travel within the region to assist with tower maintenance and/or station maintenance requirements

Critical Qualifications / Skills Requirements

  • Post-secondary school diploma in broadcast electronics from a recognized technical institute
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience preferred in a similar or related position
  • Knowledge of development and modification of systems in the broadcast industry
  • Experience with Microsoft operating systems
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and/or frequently unsupervised
  • Mature, calm and have a professional manner
  • Take initiative, willing to learn, and able to take instruction well
  • A valid driver’s licence (abstract required
