Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on AI Engineer to join our Customer Operations team, dedicated to creating the ultimate service experience for our residential, wireless, and small business consumers. As an AI Engineer at Bell, you will build and deploy the next generation of AI-powered solutions. The ideal candidate is a passionate builder with deep expertise in Generative AI, backend systems, and cloud architecture.

 

You will play a key role in designing intelligent, autonomous agentic systems from the ground up, integrating them into our core operations, and driving productivity by automating complex processes. This team leverages big data and artificial intelligence to develop intellectual property and deliver a world-class service experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build & Deploy: Spearhead the development of solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs), including the design and implementation of sophisticated Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines to ensure accuracy and context-awareness.
  • Develop Agentic AI: Design and construct stateful, multi-step agentic AI systems using modern frameworks to automate complex workflows and decision-making processes.
  • Integrate: Design and maintain scalable backend systems, including RESTful APIs and microservices on platforms like Cloud Run, to serve and integrate AI models into enterprise applications.
  • Analyze & Search: Develop and fine-tune advanced NLP models and implement semantic search solutions using vector databases and embeddings.
  • Collaborate: Partner with data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate concepts into production-ready AI features, ensuring responsible and ethical AI practices.

Critical Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering,  AI or a related quantitative field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a software or AI engineering role with proficiency in Python and its core ML and data science libraries.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically with the Google AI Platform (Vertex AI), Cloud Run, and BigQuery
  • Demonstrated experience building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems and working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and vector databases.
  • Experience with frameworks for building AI agents, such as ADK, LangChain or LangGraph.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs within a microservices architecture.
  • Proficiency with both SQL and NoSQL databases and concepts of data modeling. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automation platforms or RPA workflows.
  • Exposure to modern DevOps and MLOps practices, including CI/CD, containerization, and orchestration.
  • Familiarity with AI-enhanced developer productivity tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor).
  • A public portfolio (e.g., GitHub) showcasing relevant projects. 

 

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
