As part of the Bell Controllers organization, the Financial Close Controller team is a trusted & valued business partner delivering financial results through best-in-class people, processes and innovation.
Job Duties / Accountabilities:
- Initiate manual journal entries and ensure accurate supporting documentation
- Ensure that all entries comply with journal entry policy guidelines
- Maintain Excel reconciliations ensuring that they are clear and understandable and accurately support the balances in the accounting systems
- Prepare additional reports and perform analysis, as required
- Support of control environment and audit requirements
- Identify areas of potential improvements in existing processes and/or assist in the implementation of changes that lead to increased efficiency and improved effectiveness of processes
Essential Qualifications / Competencies:
- Accounting/finance working experience or equivalent training
- Computer knowledge:
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word
- Analytical and detail-oriented
- Ability to support a culture of innovation – a personal interest in upskilling in latest digital and technology trends and an openness to learning new tools and ways of working
- Autonomous, creative, able to work with strict deadlines in a high-paced environment
- Able to communicate well by telephone, email, or in person
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications / Competencies:
- Diploma of collegial studies in business/commerce
- Experience in an accounting environment
- Knowledge of SAP and Blackline
Working Conditions:
- Position is temporary, with potential to become permanent
- Work schedule consists of 5 days/week (Mon-Fri) regular business hours (shift start time between 7h00 and 9h00)
- Hybrid work environment with 3 days in-office (Mon-Wed), and 2 days working from home (Thur-Fri)
- Fast paced environment with high volume of transactions
- Flexibility for overtime
