Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fleet Personnel & Compliance Manager to lead all people-related, safety, and regulatory functions within our transportation operations. This role supports drivers, dispatch, and compliance teams while ensuring strict adherence to DOT, FMCSA, CVOR, Hours of Service, and all relevant regional regulations. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast‑paced operational environment and is passionate about safety, workforce development, and compliance excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop drivers, compliance coordinators, and scheduling staff.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management for independent contractor drivers.
  • Deliver ongoing training in safety, compliance, customer service, and operational excellence.
  • Manage employee relations, mediate conflicts, and support a positive workplace culture.
  • Ensure adherence to DOT, FMCSA, CVOR, HOS, ELD monitoring, and related regulations.
  • Lead safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective action plannaing.
  • Maintain and update transportation policies, SOPs, and training materials.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR and safety procedures.
    Monitor performance trends via telematics, safety scores, and behavior analytics.
  • Provide coaching and structured development plans tied to safety and service excellence.
  • Coordinate ongoing defensive driving and regulatory training.
  • Maintain accurate ELD, compliance, audit, and HR files.
  • Generate monthly compliance and safety reports for leadership.

Critical Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in transportation HR, fleet safety, compliance, or driver management.
  • Diploma or degree in Transportation, HR, Safety Management, or Business Operations
  • Strong working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, CVOR, HOS, and ELD systems.
  • Experience leading safety programs, audits, or compliance training initiatives.
  • Strong communication, conflict‑resolution, and coaching skills.
  • Proficiency with compliance platforms and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work onsite at our Oakville warehouse.

 

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.

Total earning range: $95,000 - $125,000.  The advertised salary range may vary slightly as it is based on the company’s current salary structure, which may be revised by the company, from time to time, at its sole discretion. The agreed upon salary may also vary from the advertised salary ranges depending on several factors, such as the candidate’s qualifications, experience and internal equity  
 
The salary range above includes an Annual Incentive Plan objective which represent 7.5% of your Base Salary based on the achievement of individual and corporate objectives; The Annual Achievement Incentive Plan (“AIP”) payment is calculated based on a formula that takes into account several factors, including, without limitation, corporate and individual performance measures. The AIP payment is conditional upon meeting all of the AIP’s eligibility requirements. The AIP is subject to modification by the Company from time to time, at its sole discretion to better reflect evolving business structure, goals and strategies.  

 

For work arrangements that are ‘Hybrid’, successful candidates must be based in Canada and report to a set Dome office for a minimum of 3 days a week.  Recognizing the importance of work-life balance, Dome offers flexibility in work hours based on the business needs.
