Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented GCP Data Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data engineering principles and a passion for building and maintaining efficient and reliable data pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, construct, install, test, and maintain data management and processing systems, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to efficiently move and transform data between various sources and targets.
- Optimize data pipelines to meet performance requirements, ensuring data processing is completed within acceptable timeframes and resource constraints.
- Monitor data pipeline performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or issues that impact data availability or quality.
- Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to define data requirements and design efficient data solutions.
- Contribute to the improvement of data engineering processes and best practices.
- Document code, processes, and system configurations.

Critical Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field (relevant experience may substitute).
- 1–3 years of experience in a data engineering or related technical role.
- Hands-on experience with Airflow for workflow orchestration.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational or cloud data warehouses.
- Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Practical experience with BigQuery for querying, modeling, and optimizing large datasets.
- Knowledge of batch data pipelines using at least one of the following: Beam, Spark, Python, SQL.
- Understanding of database processing techniques and performance tuning strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with version control systems and SDLC (e.g., Git).
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Strategy, Looker).
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
