Summary
BCE Inc. is currently seeking a Manager, Bell Ventures to report to the Managing Director, Bell Ventures in our Toronto office.
The Bell Ventures group strategically invests in early and growth stage companies and connects them with BCE and its subsidiaries to drive innovation and support entrepreneurship, with the aim to advance how Canadians connect with each other and the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Executing cross-functional strategic investment initiatives with business units and corporate teams across BCE
- Screening, summarizing, and evaluating investment opportunities
- Managing deal pipeline (both within and outside the organization) and generating pipeline report and analysis
- Conducting due diligence including assessment in business model, financial performance, product differentiation, growth opportunity, and strategic value
- Performing market research, competitive analysis, and opportunity assessment across thesis areas
- Supporting strategic initiatives between the portfolio companies and BCE and its subsidiaries
- Developing top-quality presentations to senior and executive management in the organization
- Representing Bell Ventures at industry events
Critical Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in venture capital, investment banking, management consulting, or strategic development at a tech company
- A curious, creative, and innovative person with an entrepreneurial mentality and exceptional work ethics
- Keen interests in technology and technology trends
- Strong networking and relationship management skills
- A proactive person with a strategic mind and sound business sense
- Proven problem-solving and sophisticated analytical skills
- Knowledge/interest in the telecommunications industry
- Strong quantitative skills - CFA, M. Sc (Finance), MBA, CBV or CA would be an asset
- Demonstrates a foundational understanding of AI and its applications; stays curious, recognizes ethical implications, and uses AI-enabled tools to enhance everyday work
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
