Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and support studio and operations staff for Bell Media’s sports and news platforms
- Lead change management processes and contribute to operational efficiency
- Budgeting, costing and vendor selection
- Recruit, onboard and develop new talent
- Participate in union-related processes
- Lead and build infrastructure for Bell Media’s Virtual Reality team
- Manage difficult situations, oversee issue escalation and resolution
- Oversee cross-training objectives
- Build trust and create an inspiring team environment with open communication with peers, employees, partners and vendors
- Ensuring the technical and operational staff are best supporting the editorial requirements of the station
- Track technical faults and work with engineering team to ensure they are addressed efficiently
Critical Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience in a media-based leadership role
- A track record for outstanding, concise communication and direct coaching skills in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated success in delivering projects on time
- Knowledge of control room operations and studio operations
- Experience with news and sports broadcasting
- Experience with cross-collaborative teams
- Experience working with unionized staff
- Forward thinking, a creative and open-minded problem solver with experience maximizing the best use of the company’s resources
- Strong team leader with effective people and motivational skills and a demonstrated record of success supervising staff
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
