Summary

Job Title: Payroll Administator, Dome Prod, Non-mgmt
Salary:    Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours of Work:    37.50 hours per week. Overtime as required
Location: 130 Merton Street. Toronto, ON

 

Position Overview:
Dome Productions is Canada’s premiere remote production facility provider to the broadcast and production world. Dome has a fleet (17) of television production mobiles that it deploys all across North America facilitating live sporting events and concerts/award shows/etc. In addition, we provide transmission services to our customers to facilitate the live transmission of the game/concert/etc. back to their home base for ultimate distribution to the cable and satellite carriers. Dome’s customers include TSN, Rogers Sportsnet, RDS, ESPN, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, just to name a few.

 

This position is responsible for ensuring our freelancers are paid accurately and on time through the accurate tracking of time cards and pay rules and through the timely submission of payroll information to the Bell payroll department. It also involves regular interaction with the Scheduling department and answering freelance pay inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage electronic timekeeping system (VimBiz) to ensure that all required timecard entries have been submitted for review and approval – both for freelance pay cycles and full time OT pay cycles
  • Collaborate as part of a team to ensure that all relevant information has been processed through VimBiz – responsible for tracking the progress of the team and ensuring completeness of data
  • Cross collaborate with the scheduling department to ensure accuracy and completeness of information in VimBiz and to rectify any differences between crew sheets and VimBiz
  • Review and approve timecard data against the crew sheets submitted
  • Complete and submit freelance payroll extracts to Bell Employee Services payroll department for processing accurately and within prescribed time frame
  • Reconcile freelance payroll submission against payroll report data and code to the G/L and correct project, accurately and in a timely manner
  • Verify freelance independent contractor invoices against estimates, check for accuracy and consistency with Dome policies and adjust accordingly
  • Respond to all freelancer questions regarding their pay submissions
  • Complete and submit staff overtime summaries for submission to payroll department based on submissions from timesheets
  • Database management including personnel information, rates, positions, and vendor information
  • Other duties as assigned

Critical Qualifications

  • College or University degree
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in general accounting/administration, preferably in Payroll
  • Experience with processing timecards and large sets of payroll data an asset
  • Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent computer skills, especially in Excel
  • Proactive with the ability to identify and solve problems using sound judgment
  • Strong organizational skills with especially high attention to accuracy
  • Strong people interaction skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable

 

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
