Position Description:

Reporting to the Sr. Product Manager, this position will manage our digital news products with a special focus on BNN Bloomberg. The successful candidate will lead the vision, development, management and maintenance of digital news products on web, apps, and other emerging platforms. The manager will work closely with other product managers, editorial teams, developers, product owners, designers and U/X experts and other business stakeholders to drive content and video consumption and grow the news audience.

Job Duties/Accountabilities:

  • Identify market opportunities, define the product vision and strategy and deliver the digital products, services or experiences that will support said strategy
  • Work with external partners, customers and/or vendors to understand business process and flows to deliver solutions that meet business needs. Specifically, own vendor relationships with financial data partners.
  • Work with cross-functional solutions teams to deliver integrated solutions across the various platforms.
  • Collect and analyze data on customer preferences and behavior to identify potential markets and new product features.
  • Prepare reports of findings, illustrating data graphically and simplifying complex concepts to drive decision-making and new ideas.
  • Report on status of digital projects in progress and performance of products in-market, and identify market opportunities
  • Assist the Product Owner in developing digital strategies and plans based on business objectives, analytical insights, metrics, and market trends – all through the customer lens.
  • Work in a cross-functional agile team (alongside a Product Owner, UI/UX designers, developers/testers) to deliver experiences that delight our customers.
  • Develop business requirements – feature lists and roadmaps – for online and mobile platforms and ensure they are thoroughly reviewed by appropriate partners.
  • Assist in effective planning, execution and continuous evaluation of digital initiatives to ensure the achievement of anticipated benefits, supporting the agile methodology.
  • Provide consultative advice to agile teams to ensure that design and planning are appropriately customized, where necessary, to meet the unique business needs of the digital channel.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to ensure their understanding of the digital channel and the uniqueness of its business requirements.


  • 3+ years of product management or digital experience
  • Undergraduate degree, ideally in Business, Computer Science and/or equivalent work experience
  • Working knowledge of corporate Canada, financial services and stock markets
  • Strong understanding of mobile and web technologies
  • Demonstrated and focused desire to build products and services that customers will love. In particular, a passion for business news, financial information and stock data.
  • Working knowledge of agile development methodologies
  • Ideally, experience launching digital products (industry agnostic) with demonstrated customer/financial impact
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information and thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually demanding, and service-oriented environment
  • Capacity for self-motivation, independent initiative, and creative problem-solving
  • Diligent attention to detail and strong technical intuition
  • Ability to manage time and schedules to meet aggressive deadlines and influence through persuasive written and verbal communication
  • Media experience is a plus
  • Entrepreneurial drive with a passion for product excellence and partner success


Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
