Summary

Acts as the definitive owner of the team backlog. The Product Owner is embedded with Agile development teams and is responsible for translating the Product Manager's high-level strategic features into detailed, actionable work. You will be the primary daily point of contact for the development teams, ensuring they have the clarity needed to execute effectively and deliver maximum business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate high-level Features from the Product Manager into detailed User Stories with robust Acceptance Criteria.
  • Own, prioritize, and continuously refine the team backlog(s) to ensure the development teams always have actionable work.
  • Lead team-level Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, and Team Demos.
  • Serve as the daily, primary point of contact for the development teams to answer functional questions and remove execution blockers.
  • Review and officially accept completed User Stories, ensuring they meet quality standards and the Definition of Done.
  • Create and manage documentation such as use cases, process maps, and release notes
  • Facilitate the creation of wireframes, mock-ups, editorial, training materials.
  • Work with Product Owners/Product Managers to manage external dependencies on Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, IT, Marketing, Product, etc.
  • Support in executing a smooth operational rollout and take-to-market plan, to ensure last-mile success

Critical Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3+ years of experience in an Agile software development environment (e.g., as a Business Analyst or junior PO).
  • Expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies, Jira, Confluence, and User Story writing
  • Flexible to work occasional (monthly or fewer) weekends and evenings in order to meet deadlines and release dates.
  • Very comfortable with ambiguity and constant change.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) or PSPO I certification. Or working towards it.
  • Strong team collaboration, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for translating business requirements to developers.
  • Disciplined, detail-oriented, and highly organized with daily time-sensitive tasks such as updating tickets and executing tests.

 

 

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
