Summary
We are seeking a highly logical and passionate Senior Data Scientist who can communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in data science and leadership to help shape the next generation of AI/ML solutions that will transform how Bell operates. As a key member of the Data Engineering and Artificial Intelligence team—Bell’s hub for innovation—you will contribute to initiatives that harness AI and Machine Learning to enhance customer experience and accelerate product roadmaps. Your work will play a critical role in ensuring Bell continues to lead as Canada’s top telecommunications provider, through the management and optimization of AI systems that analyze customer behavior, automate business insights, elevate marketing and contact strategies, and drive data‑informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of machine learning products and models from inception to product
- Build scalable, production-grade AI-driven applications leveraging generative AI models (e.g., image/text/video/code generation)
- Identify areas for AI/ML opportunities and demonstrate to internal clients how AI/ML can improve their business
- Collaborate with cross functional teams of data scientists, data engineers, and product managers in solving business problems
- Maintain and expand your knowledge of ML/AI and current technology through training opportunities, conferences, etc.
Critical Qualifications
- Bachelors degree, or Masters in a discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science or related area
- 5+ years relevant work experience in a hands-on data scientist or related role
- Algorithms
- Advanced knowledge of machine learning techniques: classification, regression, clustering, deep learning, and others
- Hands-on experience and expertise with different ML frameworks such as Scikit-Learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, BQML, SparkML
- Exposure to Gen AI tools and frameworks, such as various large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, and orchestration
- Coding
- Advanced Python development skills
- Experience with Google Cloud tools
- Experience with web API development for AI integration and prototyping
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent code design (OOP, Algorithms, and Data Structures)
- Data
- Advanced ability to query, analyze, and visualize data
- Proficiency with BigQuery, Teradata, Python libraries, MicroStrategy
- Experience in preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
- Understanding RDBMS, Distributed, and NoSQL databases
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
