Summary

The Senior Manager, Business Strategy plays a pivotal role in driving strategic planning, financial oversight and performance tracking across the department. This role is responsible for centralizing reporting and governance of Technology Services spend, monitoring project budgets and deliverables against targets and enabling data-driven decision-making. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Finance, Procurement, HR and business leads to ensure transparency, alignment and operational efficiency.

This position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities, excellent stakeholder management skills and a deep understanding of financial planning and technology operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust cost structures and financial models to optimize spend and ensure alignment with strategic prioirities.
  • Lead the development and execution of centralized planning and reporting frameworks that provide comprehensive visibility into financial performance.
  • Establish and maintain governance processes to ensure spend remains within approved targets.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze TS project expenditures and deliverables against financial and operational targets to identify variances and drive corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Finance to support budgeting cycles, conduct variance analysis and refine forecasting methodologies for improved financial accuracy.
  • Partner with Procurement, HR, and business primes to align resource planning, vendor engagement and workforce strategies with cost optimization goals.
  • Develop dynamic dashboards and executive-level reports that highlight spend trends and strategic initiative progress.
  • Utilize advanced data analytics to uncover insights, assess risks and identify opportunities for financial and operational efficiency.
  • Support executive decision-making through scenario modeling, business case development and strategic financial planning.

Critical Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in business strategy, financial planning, or program management within a large organization, ideally in a technology services environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

 

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
