Summary
We are seeking a talented Development Manager to lead our Sustained Engineering division. This role ensures the stability and operational excellence of our production web platforms. The ideal candidate will guide a team of software engineers and solution architects through post-launch software management, from debugging to code deployment. They will champion best practices in a dynamic environment to maintain and enhance our digital assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of software engineers.
- Ensure the operational integrity of production websites.
- Oversee incident management and debugging.
- Manage code and content changes with minimal disruption.
- Refine standard operating procedures for Day 2 operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Adopt cutting-edge software engineering methodologies.
- Present technical reports and performance metrics.
- Act as the technical escalation point for critical incidents.
- Manage team resources, project timelines, and budgets .
Critical Qualifications
- Minimum ten years of software development experience, with three years in management.
- Experience managing Solution Architects and software developers.
- Expertise in Day 2 operations, including monitoring and incident response.
- Comprehensive skill set across the software lifecycle.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related technical discipline.
- Relevant professional certifications.
- Proficiency with source code management systems and enterprise tools.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities 4- 5.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Agile or SAFe methodologies.
- Exposure to public cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies.
- Advanced scripting capabilities.
- Understanding of database management.
- Ability to conduct thorough code reviews.
- Experience with application performance monitoring tools.
- Background in network fundamentals and load balancing.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers 6- 7.
Additional Requirements
- Proficiency in front-end development with React.js.
- Mastery of core web technologies.
- Understanding of web performance optimization techniques.
- Knowledge of web security best practices.
- Experience with Content Management Systems.
- Skill in technical triage and providing technical support.
- Ability to manage code changes and hotfixes with zero downtime.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in an on-call rotation
