About AI Fabric
AI Fabric is Bell’s national AI infrastructure platform, building and operating data centres across Canada purpose-built for AI workloads. We sit at the intersection of telecommunications, energy, real estate, and government policy. Our mandate: keep Canadian data in Canada and process it under Canadian operational control. The work spans hyperscale and enterprise customers, provincial and federal government partnerships, university research collaborations, and technology alliances that strengthen the Canadian AI stack. We are building the digital railroad this country needs. The team we build now will define how Canada builds, owns, and operates its AI infrastructure for the next generation.
The Opportunity
AI Fabric has two revenue engines: acquiring and developing data centre sites across Canada, and selling data hall capacity to the hyperscalers, enterprises, and government agencies that need it. The COO leads site origination, builds customer relationships, and brings deals across the line. What the team needs is a full-time operator keeping the pipeline machine running between those conversations.
This role owns the mechanics of business development so the COO can focus on relationships and deal strategy. You run the CRM. You make sure every lead gets followed up, every internal Bell introduction gets activated, every partner referral gets tracked, and every road show calendar is packed before the team lands. You are the person who ensures nothing falls through the cracks in a sales cycle that runs 6 to 18 months and involves utilities, municipalities, government, and enterprise procurement teams simultaneously.
The scope of this role will evolve as the sales function matures, requiring comfort operating without predefined mandates.
Key Responsibilities
CRM & Pipeline Operations
- Own and maintain the CRM end to end: deal stages, contact profiles, interaction logs, pipeline reporting, and weekly pipeline reviews with the COO.
- Ensure every prospect, site opportunity, and customer conversation has a clear owner, next action, and timeline.
- Build and run pipeline reporting that gives the COO and CFO real-time visibility into what is moving, what is stuck, and what needs attention.
- Capture and log competitive intelligence encountered during prospecting and partner conversations for synthesis by the Go-to-Market & Partnerships Lead.
Site Prospecting Support
- Support the COO in prospecting data centre sites: research power availability, fiber connectivity, land, zoning, and municipal readiness.
- Hand qualified site opportunities to the CFO for detailed assessment and financial diligence. Maintain site pipeline visibility in the CRM.
Follow-Up & Meeting Setting
- Execute systematic follow-up on every lead, referral, and introduction. No contact goes cold because nobody had time.
- Coordinate with Bell’s national sales and account teams to activate warm introductions and surface site development and customer opportunities into AI Fabric’s pipeline.
- Schedule and prepare meetings for the COO: prospect research, briefing notes, attendee profiles, and post-meeting CRM updates.
- Manage post-event contact capture and follow-up workflows after conferences and road shows.
Partner Pipeline Coordination
- Track and advance referral pipelines from feeder partners (power providers, technology vendors, ecosystem partners) who bring customer relationships to AI Fabric.
- Maintain partner interaction logs and ensure joint opportunities are visible in the CRM alongside direct pipeline.
- Coordinate with the Go-to-Market & Partnerships Lead on partner engagement and joint go-to-market activities.
Road Show & Conference Operations
- Plan road show logistics: identify target markets, coordinate with the Go-to-Market lead to fill meeting calendars, and ensure every trip produces pipeline additions.
- Manage conference meeting schedules: side meetings, dinners, and follow-ups so no time slot goes empty.
- Own post-event CRM hygiene: contacts entered, interactions logged, next steps assigned within 24 hours.
Critical Qualifications
- 4 to 7 years in sales operations, business development, or commercial real estate support (data centres, telecom infrastructure, energy, or adjacent industries).
- Demonstrated CRM discipline: you have built or managed a pipeline process in a complex, long-cycle B2B environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. You track dozens of concurrent opportunities without dropping threads.
- Excellent written communication: outreach emails, meeting briefs, and follow-up notes that are clear, professional, and on point.
- Comfort working across stakeholder groups: utility executives, municipal officials, internal Bell teams, hyperscaler procurement, and technology partners.
- Familiarity with AI tools and a willingness to integrate them into prospecting, research, and pipeline management. We use AI extensively and expect every team member to do the same.
- Understanding of data centre site selection criteria (power, fiber, water, land, zoning) is a strong asset.
- Existing network in Canadian data centre, telecommunications, energy, or government infrastructure is a strong asset.
