Summary
This position offers an opportunity to join the Video packaging and origin team within Bell Canada's MediaTV organization. The role involves contributing to the full application lifecycle, writing clean, secure, and well-documented code in languages such as Python. You will leverage Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), automation tools (Ansible), and container orchestration (Kubernetes) within major cloud platforms like AWS and GCP. A solid foundation in Linux/UNIX, fundamental networking concepts, and Agile practices is crucial for collaborating and delivering innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Write clean, secure, and well-documented code in Kotlin, Java, or other specified languages.
- Apply Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) in a team environment.
- Participate in code reviews and unit testing to ensure code quality.
- Integrate APIs and third-party libraries into applications.
- Contribute to all phases of the application lifecycle, from design and development to testing and deployment.
- Collaborate effectively with product owners, customers, vendors, and other developers.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks.
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolving issues in development and testing environments.

Critical Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Less that 3 years of relevant work experience (some exceptions may be made for highly skilled candidates).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Kotlin, Java preferred).
- Understanding of fundamental software development concepts (e.g., object-oriented programming, data structures).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Basic knowledge of Agile frameworks, testing methodologies (unit testing), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Additional Requirements
- Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform.
- Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible) and container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with major cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
- Proficiency in Linux/UNIX operating systems.
- Understanding of fundamental networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS).
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
