Financial Analyst


The Finance Team manages the performance and risk profile of Bell, ensuring the needs of customers, investors and employees are balanced with long-term business success. We work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute plans that help the company achieve its strategic objectives and ensure financial sustainability.  

The Finance team supports the operational effectiveness of the company. The team is involved in analyzing financial figures, metrics and system and process issues to support major decisions within the business. The key groups within the Finance team include corporate and operational finance, the controllers group, internal audit and risk advisory services, taxation, treasury, corporate strategy and mergers and acquisitions.


Bell Smart Home’s (BSH) Finance team is responsible for reporting results for Bell Smart Home across all regions. The team is responsible for financial planning, forecasting, coordinating reporting and consolidation across all of Bell Smart Home. The team works closely with the Bell Residential Services (BRS) finance team, strategic planning, controllers team and other corporate groups. The mandate is to deliver insightful financial information and analysis to the executive team to influence decision making and drive greater profitability, while ensuring financial integrity.


The successful candidate will work with finance peers to coordinate and consolidate financial reporting, forecasting, planning and analysis for all applicable business units and entities. We are looking for a dynamic and responsible self-starter, who is detail-oriented with strong analytical skills. The candidate will work closely with various Business stakeholders to provide detailed financials with the goal to optimize our profitability.   


Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the financial reporting and forecasting process for results, forecasts, budgets and long range planning
  • Understand the business by becoming the subject matter expert on revenues, expenses and key performance metrics across Bell Residential Services
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to consolidate an overall full P&L view for the responsible  business units, including detailed monthly variance analysis for financial reporting, KPIs and metrics
  • provide monthly and quarterly detailed reports and variances
  • ensure accuracy and completeness of information
  • Provide continuous improvement of the BSH consolidation process


Critical Competencies: 

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis
  • Excellent analytical skills including variance analysis and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with great autonomy
  • Ability to multi-task and straddle over cross functional teams
  • In-depth knowledge of general accounting practices, analysis and accounting principles
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey financial analysis and metrics to senior management
  • Strong working knowledge and proficiency in MS Office applications (notably Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent speaking, writing and listening skills
  • Strong organizing and planning skills
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, manage a number of projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Bell’s financial systems and processes, knowledge of BPC system an asset


Preferred Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Bell Canada financial tools and systems (BPC, SAP, BI, PEATS, BTN Datamart etc.)



Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
