To support its growth, Bell Media Québec is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join the development team for the implementation of promotional and transactional websites and mobile applications owned by Bell Media (TV, Radio, RDS, TSN, CTV News, and more). The candidate will participate in the development of a web platform allowing reusability of components on many brands in a multidisciplinary team.

The position requires including and implementing Agile Scrum development methodologies in every research, analysis, prototyping and interfaces development (web, application software, mobile) initiatives.



  • Improve developer productivity and quality through automation and productivity tools;
  • Automate and insure smooth deployments in production, and help work towards continuous delivery;
  • Establish and maintain heterogeneous environments for a multitude of Web Applications;
  • Provide improvement suggestions regarding the security, usability, performance, maintainability, and scalability of existing environments.
  • Provide accurate estimates based on business requirements;
  • Understand and apply Scrum rules and principles in every tasks;
  • Work with the infrastructure team to find innovative solutions and deliver value;


Critical Competencies:

  • University degree in Computer Science or equivalent;
  • 5 years experience with Jenkins, Maven, Git, Tomcat;
  • 2 years experience with Docker and Vagrant
  • 2 years experience with Deployment Management Tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt)
  • 2 years experience with System Administration and IT Operations;
  • Experience with Relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, MariaDB or other);
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (APIs and SDKs);
  • Experience in NoSQL databases (CouchDB, MongoDB);
  • Strong grasp of automation tools;
  • Agile methodology, Scrum;
  • Autonomy and an ability to learn are critical to being part of the team;
  • Gifted thinker who is extremely resourceful, pays attention to detail and is proactive;
  • Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders;
  • Strong time management skills and work ethic (highly motivated) to manage multiple projects/accountabilities
  • Bilingual (English and French)


Preferred Competencies:

  • Experience with Java and PHP development;
  • Experience with caching standards (Varnish, CDNs, memcached, redis);
  • Experience with high volume data processing;
