Position:                    Closed Captioning Administrator, Bell Media

Status:                       Regular - Full Time   

Location:                   CTV – 299 Queen St W, Toronto

Salary:                       Commensurate with experience and Qualification

Hours of Work:         40 hours per week.  Overtime as required.

  • Coordinate the influx and output of captioning requirements in a manner that allows quick and effective captioning while accommodating the needs of the clients
  • Contribute to the workflow by partnering with staff, production clients and operations services to ensure that all necessary tools are provided in a timely manner while keeping all systems organized and available for use
  • Work within a collaborative administrative team to facilitate departmental workflow and protocol
  • Overcome unforeseen situations such as schedule changes, program non-delivery and equipment malfunctions as required
  • Operate the video capturing system to digitize a high volume of programming for the Closed Captioning Operators.
  • Participate in creating and maintaining monthly reports as needed.
  • Troubleshoot workflow issues (technical or otherwise)
  • Assist in coordinating outside captioning services
  • Prioritize duties in order to meet deadlines promptly; strive to meet or exceed daily work expectations
  • Share information, keep records, and additional tasks as required
  • Provide ad hoc documents and project specifications that support internal and inter-departmental procedures and protocols
  • Perform various other administrative tasks as needed



  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in production workflow in the broadcasting industry
  • The flexibility and composure to perform under constant deadline pressure
  • The ability to apply the appropriate amount of urgency to get the job done
  • The highest attention to detail and advanced problem solving skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate effectively
  • Adaptability to constant changes
  • Knowledge of BellMedia programs and program grids
  • Knowledge of the live & offline closed captioning processes
  • Proficient English language and computer skills
  • Post-Secondary Education in broadcasting preferred



Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
