Position: Senior Reporter, CTV Vancouver

Location: Vancouver, BC

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience


  • Working as part of the News Team, the Senior Reporter will be responsible for originating, writing, interviewing, researching, and producing television and online news stories
  • This position will primarily involve daily general assignment reporting for TV and online and will also include original, enterprise news reporting and investigations.
  • The Senior Reporter will be expected to pitch original ideas as well as develop stories as assigned by the CTV News Assignment Editor
  • The Senior Reporter will set the highest standards for television storytelling, research ethics, and journalistic excellence.
  • Using CTV journalism to engage with and recruit viewers on social media is essential
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Minimum 10 years television journalism experience in a large market with a proven track record as a “lead story” journalist.
  • Undergraduate or higher university degree is an important asset.
  • A demonstrated fluency in social media engagement.
  • A proven record as a superior writer, researcher, interviewer and television presenter.
  • A superior track record of reporting live on the air.  
  • A proven record to work independently at a high level while under deadline pressure.
  • A proven record of breaking original news stories that have a strong impact on the community.
  • A strong knowledge of issues, history and major news stories in British Columbia.
  • Readiness to work unusual hours, to be on-call and to travel on short notice.
