Bell’s Business Intelligence team is responsible for the management and optimization of BI systems used to analyze customer behavior, automate business insight processes, target marketing & contact strategy opportunities and provide insight to drive optimal business decisions.

What are your team's objectives?

  • Consulting with business stakeholders to create actionable insights using data analytics
  • Design & development of self-serve dashboards in Tableau supporting all of the Customer Operations organisation
  • Building business value by improving customer experience and business processes measured on various business metrics in all areas of customer operations. Data can relate to call center, billing, network, customer survey, ordering, website, etc…
  • Team is responsible for consulting on data acquisition capital programs along side of PMO and data engineering teams. New data to acquire could be to define the customer (M&A, new product, new technology) or customer interactions (customer 360 view)
  • Explore new sources of information to uncover new business opportunities at all levels of the business (strategic to operational)
  • Design practical user interfaces and layouts to convey data in a meaningful and actionable way for end users


What are roles & responsibilities of the position?

  • Understand and analyze data from every aspect of the business (customer ops, network, field, website, etc...) found in our BI360 environment
  • Consult with business stakeholders to understand the business question and the value of doing the work. Align on the design approach and requirements
  • Use SQL code to design ad-hoc or recurring datasets in order to answer business questions and drive value
  • Build & improve our library of Tableau dashboards which answer the most common business questions so our clients can self-serve on simpler data asks
  • Consult with IT business intelligence group, BI PMO, and BI data engineering to ensure our data acquisition program yields agile and quality data for use in analytics
  • During data acquisition projects, drive the design to maximize analytical power of the data and perform the final layer of testing before launching the data to production
  • Working with and presenting to all management levels (CP2 to EVP)
  • Maintain and expand your knowledge of BI and current technology through training opportunities


Required Competencies:

  • You have a Bachelors degree, or higher, or equivalent work experience in a discipline such as: BI, applied math, applied science / engineering, economics/econometrics, management science / operations research, psychology or related area
  • You have experience with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
  • You are highly analytical and understand the basic principles of working with large and complex data sets
  • You have the ability to leverage insights and opportunities from data and metrics to build strategies and make recommendations
  • You are able to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset in Ontario and a requirement in Quebec
  • You are a self starter who is comfortable working with and presenting to all management levels (peers to executives)
  • You love data and see the value it can bring to an organization


Preferred Competencies:

  • Experience with data systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, SAS or others
  • Experience with BI and data warehouse technologies
  • Basic working knowledge of project management steps
  • Experience in Telecommunications
  • Proficiency at enterprise-level with Omniture website data
  • Curiosity, problem solving, story telling with data
  • Big Data knowledge and experience (Hadoop)

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
