Job Duties/ Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of locally based advertisers to meet or exceed sales quotas with a primary focus on generating new business
  • Meet and exceed sales targets across radio, TV and digital media platforms
  • Provide quality customer service with a focus on client retention through regular, relevant and systematic contact with all active and potential clientele
  • Work in collaboration with management to assist in the development of strategically integrated proposals
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive sales proposals which include appropriate research data
  • Attend and participate in Sales meetings, liaise effectively and build positive relationships with all Sales Support functions including Creative Services, Traffic and Accounting
  • Assist the station in maintaining and/or increasing its community presence by becoming actively involved in the community
  • Aid in the collection of overdue accounts, complete and submit all necessary paperwork, and other duties as required


Critical Qualifications/ Competencies:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years outside sales experience
  • Knowledge of digital and broadcast industry terms, marketing strategies is an asset
  • Experience in sourcing clients, networking and cold calling for new business required
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding goals; proven ability to manage work independently
  • Strong presentation and negotiating skills, combined with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work under pressure of deadlines and last minute revisions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic with a strong desire to succeed
  • Practical computer knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Applicant must possess a valid G Class driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.   The ability to travel within our designated sales territory (Kitchener-Waterloo region) is required
