Responsibilities:           

  • Prepare and execute a tight & focused Afternoon Drive show on Virgin Radio
  • Be visible!  There’s lots to do in Kitchener & we need someone who is in touch with our local community and willing to meet every listener
  • Be socially-savvy and connect with listeners on all platforms; sharing memes is fine, but you must love generating original content both on-air and across all digital platforms
  • We have a close relationship with our sister station CTV Kitchener, and often produce original video content – so you’ll need to be comfortable behind the mic in the studio AND on camera!
  • Remote broadcasts and station appearances and occasional non-paid community appearances, as required
  • Voice commercials (radio & TV) and promos daily
  • Voice track other shows (in-market and out-of-market) when necessary
  • Assist the Music Department (music meetings, scheduling, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:  

  • Education in broadcasting and/or a minimum of 3-5 years on-air experience
  • Working knowledge of MusicMaster, Wide Orbit Automation and VoxPro a definite asset
  • Social networking skills (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, SMS, web knowledge) are a MUST!
  • Must be able to connect and engage with a A18-44 audience
  • Dynamic, creative and innovative; love creating original content
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented and a team player
  • Valid G Class Driver’s license and a good driving record

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
