Bell Media is seeking a strategic leader with substantive experience transforming Broadcast Media properties setting them up so that they can thrive today.  Strong competencies in business management and people leadership as well as a proven success in Broadcast Media Programming, Operations or Sales are also required to lead our Southwestern Ontario Radio and TV properties in Kitchener, London and Windsor.  This role will report to the Regional Vice-President/General Manager, Radio/TV, Ontario and Atlantic Canada. 
 

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations and general management of Bell Media Radio/TV stations in Kitchener, London and Windsor, Ontario
  • Leading and supporting the management team consisting of the News, Programming, Operations, Administrative & Business Managers and Chief Engineers to ensure we build a positive, proactive and collaborative working environment
  • Establishing, supporting, promoting and maintaining positive business and community contacts and relationships in each of the Kitchener, London and Windsor markets
  • Ensuring Bell Media's policies are adhered to in accordance with legal/ legislative requirements and in accordance with the parent company (Bell) and meeting all CRTC license requirements in each market
  • Preparing activity reports; attending group management meetings (conference calls) and providing feedback and updates to the Bell Media leadership team
  • In collaboration with the Regional VP/GM, establishing then achieving annual plans/operating budgets
  • Aid in driving revenue by encouraging, supporting and creating joint Programming/Sales Integrated Advertising Plans/Proposals 
  • Collaborating with Regional VP/GM & HR in the hiring of new employees for the region and delivering annual performance management programs
  • Supporting the implementation of Bell Media employee practices
  • Strategically transforming the business in ways that are not yet imagined to make/keep us #1 in all local markets
  • Other duties as required

 

Requirements:

  • Substantial industry experience in Broadcast General Management, Programming, Operations or Sales with a good understanding of all aspects of Radio and Television
  • Post-secondary education in business or broadcasting preferred
  • Ability to think strategically and be innovative in the broadcast media space 
  • Superior communication, collaboration and team building competencies
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading a team
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of larger, distributed team.
  • An interest and demonstrated ability in developing people

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
