We have an amazing opportunity for a talented and vibrant person to write and deliver news on a part time basis out of our Midland or Orillia studios.


If you can write and deliver a conversational newscast, this position could be right for you.  We need someone who is the exact same person off the air as they are on the air!  Someone who is creative, resourceful and all about LOCAL!   


Weekend work and overtime as required. This is a 6 month contract with possibility for extension.



  • Write and deliver newscasts on a part time basis
  • Commercial voice work, as required
  • Attend remotes and personal appearances as required
  • Source out innovative ideas for newscasts
  • Develop and maintain strong local & community awareness



  • Ability to take direction with regards to on-air performance
  • Good knowledge of current affairs and politics
  • Understand communication versus announcing
  • Realize that local wins
  • Execute and embrace the news delivery format
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude
  • College or University degree in broadcasting or equivalent, and/or a minimum of 3 years relevant on-air experience
  • Social networking skills (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, SMS, web knowledge) are a MUST!
  • Dynamic, creative and innovative; love creating original content
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Valid G Class Driver’s license and a good driving record

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
