Bell Canada Enterprises (BCE) understands the importance of security to support its operations and bring value to its shareholders through reduced financial and reputational risks.  BCE recognizes the criticality of its infrastructure for the security, health, safety and economic well-being of its customers and employees.  As part of BCE’s Corporate Security and Resiliency team, your function will be to establish, administer, implement and enforce Bell’s security policies.

 

As such, a significant part of the EM specialist role is to provide governance on many resiliency programs including emergency management, which includes preparedness and response. With assets in country and around the globe, the programs are complex and subject to a variety of federal, provincial and municipal codes and regulations from which Corporate Security and Resiliency derives its own internal policies.

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Emergency Management – You will be accountable to response and preparedness and a variety of tasks and projects that are related to the discipline.

 

Tasks / Responsibilities:

The position has the following main duties:

  • Respond as a single point of contact for managing company related high severity emergencies with a primary focus on locations outside of country and assist within country when required
  • Coordination and Management of high severity emergency and incident response
  • On call availability is a requirement of this role (24/7)
  • Recruitment, training and monitoring Building Emergency Organizations within your region
  • Planning and exercising various emergency procedures in corporate locations as assigned to you within your designated region
  • Accountable for the KPI (Key performance Indicators) within your designated region
  • Manage data, incident reports and program structure in various tools
  • Program lead various projects with a specific accountability to BCE Travel Security
  • Create and update program documents including policies, directives, and procedures
  • Utilize and validate Emergency Management concepts and practices within our program
  • Develop and update program documents including policies, directives, and procedures to ensure compliance requirements and industry best practices
  • Influence and engage the appropriate individuals to support program development
  • Guide and coordinate various internal and external teams to meet program objectives
  • Utilize best practice project delivery concepts in supporting all aspects of our team’s Emergency Management preparedness and planning deliverables
  • Effectively manage overlapping tasks and projects to identify risks and meet corporate strategic objectives

 

Required Educational Background and Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in Emergency Management
  • Previous experience in incident management
  • Experience in project delivery an asset
  • The ideal candidate holds a bachelor degree in a related field

 

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional verbal and written skills (English)
  • Comfortable in leading and coordinating various levels of management during incidents.
  • Ability to establish priorities and execute in a fast paced changing environment
  • Ability to recognize opportunities through proactive and “out of the box” thinking
  • Proficient at MS applications
  • Proven interpersonal skills including ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Experience in working with virtual teams
  • Proven skills in planning, organizing and prioritizing

 

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in Emergency Management & Preparedness, or an equivalent field, including resiliency programs such as fire prevention, business continuity, incident management or risk management
  • Certified at a 300 level in ICS/IMS
  • Experience in large corporations or government agencies
  • Ability to understand complex dynamics of working with multiple stakeholders with divergent interests

 

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
