Summary
The team behind Bell Media’s Digital Video services is looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer with a strong front-end focus to join our engineering team. In this role, approximately 75% of your work will be front-end development using ReactJS, with the remaining 25% contributing to back-end services and APIs.
You will join a dynamic, highly collaborative DevOps team that builds and operates services powering Bell Media’s digital video platforms, supporting millions of streaming sessions across Canada’s leading digital media brands.

Key Responsibilities
- Working as an engaged team player within a highly collaborative DevOps team.
- Design and build reusable, well-structured React components using modern patterns including hooks, context, compound components, and render props.
- Collaborate with UX designers to translate wireframes and design systems into polished, accessible, and responsive user interfaces.
- Own and evolve front-end architecture decisions, including state management strategy, routing, and client-side performance optimization.
- Write and maintain front-end unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to uphold code quality and prevent regressions.
- Contribute to the development of Bell Media’s in-house Media Asset Manager.
- Participate in the team's ceremonies, including daily stand-up, backlog refinement, sprint planning and reviews with stakeholders.
- Supporting our product and project teams by delivering new features and experiences.
- Work with colleagues to test and troubleshoot behaviour in pre-release and live applications.

- Uses an organized and logical approach to finding solutions to complex problems, looks beyond the obvious to understand the root cause of problems, and proposes several possible solutions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience effectively communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Possess strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems, and information retrieval.
- Passionate for building the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications and services
- Willing to participate in an on-call rotation and after-hours support when needed to restore critical services.
- Proven hands-on experience with ReactJS, including functional components, hooks (useState, useEffect, useContext, useMemo, useCallback), and the React component lifecycle.
- Solid understanding of modern UI design patterns and software architecture, including component-based design, unidirectional data flow, container/presentational component separation, and atomic design principles.
- Experience with client-side state management solutions such as Redux, Zustand, Jotai, or React Query, with an understanding of when each approach is appropriate.
- Proficiency in modern CSS practices including CSS Modules, CSS-in-JS (Styled Components or Emotion), utility-first frameworks (Tailwind CSS), and responsive/adaptive layout techniques.
- Experience writing front-end tests using Jest and React Testing Library, with an understanding of testing best practices including unit, integration, and snapshot testing.
- Solid understanding of RESTful API integration and the ability to contribute to back-end services, including familiarity with the .NET runtime and C#.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with TypeScript in a React codebase, including typing props, hooks, and API responses
- Experience building or contributing to a shared component library or design system (e.g., Storybook)
- Familiarity with web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and tools such as Axe or Lighthouse for auditing UI accessibility
- Familiarity with GraphQL or experience working with Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) patterns
- Familiarity with Relational Databases (Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
- Familiarity with Containers and Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Familiarity with Cloud Service Providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Bonus points if you have
- Experience with leading, coaching or mentoring team members
- Experience with front-end performance profiling and optimization techniques such as code splitting, lazy loading, and Core Web Vitals tuning
- Background in media, streaming, or video platform front-ends (e.g., video players, adaptive bitrate streaming, HLS/DASH)
Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
