The Supply Chain Manager helps drive the business by providing direction to Bell’s Supply Chain partners and 3PL Distribution Centre team.  The Manager leads the implementation of supply chain continuous improvement projects and initiatives for Bell Mobility’s transportation and warehouse operations.  In addition, they will be required to effectively communicate to all stakeholders and develop strong relationships with partners and team. The Manager is responsible for the daily operational requirements within the facility including planning, decision-making and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with 3PL warehouse provider to ensure SLA’s are met while continually striving to better optimize labour to minimize operational costs
  • Work closely with transportation providers to control and minimize annual freight spend
  • Support implementation of new transportation pricing and transportation decisions using our transportation management system admin UI
  • Support implementation of distribution best practices such as systems integration and optimization, inventory control and slotting optimization, and demand planning
  • Implement continuous improvement warehouse and transportation projects within an automated warehouse environment
  • Forecast and plan projected requirements and manage the pipeline of assigned activity to ensure adequate resources are applied to improve cost control, volume changes, delivery accuracy and inventory availability
  • Develop and manage internal and external relationships with partners pursuing opportunities to add value throughout distribution network
  • Conduct business dealings with the highest level of integrity and regard for legal and environmental regulations
  • Provide timely and effective updates to all stakeholders informing progress, change, or issue resolution affecting their business areas
  • Establish and maintain procedures and define and track performance metrics for the department
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed to analyze and make recommendations for improvements

Critical Qualifications

  • Possess 3-5 years demonstrated management experience in transportation/automated warehouse environment
  • University degree or equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Math, Business or related field
  • Well developed analytical skills & proactive problem-solving skills
  • Comfort in dealing with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate and implement change
  • Ability to model processes and to determine financial implications of alternatives
  • A thorough understanding of SAP, MS Office including Excel, PPT and Access, SAS experience would be a benefit
