Senior Manager, Solutions Marketing

Position Overview
The Solutions Marketing Manager exhibits a deep understanding of markets and buyers in order to devise and lead a solution’s take-to-market strategy. He or she must work cross-functionally, unifying and motivating peers from different teams (e.g. Product Management, Marketing Communications, Channel marketing, Sales). The Solutions Marketing Manager must have an expert understanding of the product/solution’s buying audiences and needs and acts as a subject matter expert who transfers knowledge about markets, buyers and product across Marketing and Sales functions.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Define the market opportunity for a product/solution; perform segmentation and targeting exercises that identify the segments with the highest propensity to buy 
  • Conduct market and customer research to gather data and insight about target personas, buyer needs and the purchasing decision process for the product, including key buyer roles 
  • Develop product/solution positioning, value propositions and messaging that resonate with the buying audience 
  • Provide market and buyer insights to drive the development of campaign strategies including demand generation, upsell/cross-sell and retention programs 
  • Write and socialize the following documents: marketing plan, sales enablement plan, take to market plan and the marketing campaign/program brief 
  • Enable sellers and coordinate the development of sales content and sales enablement activities, including competitive guides  
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and marketing peers to produce relevant content for target buyers 


Critical Qualifications/Competencies:

  • University Degree in Marketing or Business, MBA preferred
  • 5 - 7 years of practical experience in product/solution marketing as well as developing B2B business strategy


The ideal candidate has the following skills:

  • Ability to conduct market, competitor and customer research to gather insights and assess market opportunities 
  • Ability to create B2B value propositions and messaging strategies 
  • Ability to develop strategies for creating pipeline for new offerings as well as upsell, cross-sell and account-based marketing programs 
  • Ability to forge strong internal relationships and communication with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and juggle multiple projects at once
  • Strong writing, communication, presentation development and delivery skills 
  • Strong self-management  and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight timelines; willingness to work extended hours on occasion as required by the business
  • Critical thinking 
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) 



Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
