As an advocate of a business function and in the role of Project Manager, the successful Senior Project Manager will lead various types of projects (Transformation, New Product Introductions (NPIs), Tool and/or Process Enhancements, Governance, etc.) in order to drive growth, optimization and provide exceptional customer service in the Managed Services, Security and Cloud portfolios.

 

Job Duties/Accountabilities:

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with the senior leadership team and internal stakeholders
  • Prepare all necessary documentation to formally initiate a project & monitor developments
  • Plan, schedule & monitor project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Estimate resources and participants required to achieve project goals and manage project budget
  • Establish project governance
  • Ensure proper risk management by documenting all risks and employing an effective mitigation strategy
  • Lead and/or collaborate on  business case elaboration to support project scope and/or monetary investment
  • Prepare & facilitate internal and executive presentations related to project as required
  • Facilitate & document project reviews, meetings, work sessions and action-registers
  • Lead & monitor change management, communication and training activities related to the project
  • Lead post project activities and evaluations

 

Critical Qualifications/Competencies:

  • University degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience
  • Exceptional writing, communication & presentation skills in English
  • Strong organizational & prioritization skills with ability to work independently
  • Firm knowledge of project management methodologies & tools
  • Ability to influence and negotiate
  • Problem solving mindset
  • Resourcefulness & proactivity
  • Ability to collaborate with people and lead teams effectively by maximizing each team member’s abilities and skills
  • Ability to be flexible and highly adaptive in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong aptitude to recognize opportunities for improvement and take appropriate action
  • Advanced efficiency in working in a virtual environment [new since the pandemic]
  • Good knowledge of the Project Management Institute’s approach to Project Management and demonstrated successful completion of an advanced Project Management course

 

Preferred Qualifications/Competences:

  • Strong understanding and experience with governance and change management principles     
  • Business acumen in the area of the customer organization: Sales, Presales, Operations, Managed Services (MS), Mobility Services, Professional Services (PS), Service Assurance (SA), etc. [Bell internal]
  • Developed experience in creating, improving and documenting processes (mapping, charting, RACI charts etc.)
  • Experience in the telecommunications and/or IT industry
  • PMP Designation or equivalent
  • Experience in IT, transformation and/or new product introduction projects

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires sitting and/or standing in front of a computer for most of the day
