Senior Software Developer/Architect - 5G Core

Are you a seasoned Software Architect?  Do you have experience working on micro-services, using cloud-native principals or container technologies, and building complex software-based architectures?  Well, come join our 5G Core team and you will participate in the development, delivery, and support of our new 5G Core throughout its entire lifecycle.  We are seeking the help of software development specialists that will help fuel our automation, develop deployment strategies, support development and delivery practices, and apply critical-thinking to provide the most robust, most accessible and highly available 5G Core architecture. 
Key responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Director - 5G Core Development and Delivery, the Senior Solution Architect, 5G Core Automation will be responsible for: 
  • Support the Continuous-Delivery and lifecycle management for the 5G Core by being involved in solution architecture, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation support.
  • Lead solution building, architecture planning, platform selection, equipment testing, and business case analysis, written technical documentation and training course development for other Network Services groups as well as developing synergies with other Bell teams. 
  • Evolve the current packet core architecture to support increasing data traffic and service demands.
  • Improve the packet core network’s reliability, availability, capacity as well as addressing security requirements. 
  • Coach project teams on the technical practices necessary for agile software development, deployment, testing and release to production.
  • Working with vendors to enhance our software development environment.
  • Technology exploration with focus on DevOps ecosystem and software development practices

Required qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working in IT infrastructure, Networking or software development
  • Very familiar with automation/orchestration tools and source code management (GIT)
  • Good understanding of IT technologies (programming, cloud architecture, micro services, automation, etc,) and development practices (OO, DevOps, TDD, CI/CD, etc.).
  • Proficient at analytical problem-solving skills where problems are unusual and extremely complex
  • Passionate about working with other developers that primarily leverage DevOps and Agile in transforming our Network operations into a Self-Operating network
  • Possesses the willingness and mindset to dive into technologies or methodologies they're not familiar with to understand and leverage their benefits for the Bell teams
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills


Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
