Job Description: 

Bell is currently seeking a candidate for the position of Senior Specialist, Security Architecture reporting to the Senior Manager – Information Security Architecture. This person will be tasked with identifying strengths and weaknesses in the company’s IS tooling and programs, developing plans to address gaps, and advocating for the implementation of the plan to various business units.


Job Duties/Accountabilities:

  • Work with subject matter experts across each BU to identify gaps with best practices pertaining to Firewalls/WAF, IDS, DLP, Web filtering tools, VPN, DDOS and other network-based security measures
  • Develop roadmaps/plans to address issues identified including People, Process, and Technologies required
  • Present and secure support from subject matter experts and senior leadership for the execution of the plan
  • Work with stakeholders and senior leadership on plan execution providing regular reporting on status
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the company’s best practice/standards documents.


Qualifications/ Competencies:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in implementing and/or operating information security tools (e.g. Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems, etc.)
  • 5+ years experience implementing/operating networking equipment (Routers, Switches, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of communication protocols (e.g. IP, TLS, etc.)
  • EPIC communication both written and verbal, ability to take complex technical information and present it in a manner that non-technical stakeholders comprehend
  • Excellent negotiation capability, ability to stand firm on “hard” requirements yet be flexible and understanding of stakeholder limitations
  • Critical thinker with strong problem-solving capability
  • High level of personal integrity, and the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and demonstrate a high level of judgment and maturity
  • High degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work with little supervision
  • Post-Secondary education in Information Technology, or equivalent work experience


Preferred Qualifications/ Competencies:

  • Professional information security certifications, such as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or other similar credentials
  • Knowledge of Information Security Forum’s Standard of Good Practice, ISO 2700x, or PCI-DSS
  • Experience in the fields of auditing and risk management
  • Formal training/certification on Canadian Privacy laws and regulations


The candidate must pass an extensive background verification including but not limited to criminal record and reputational checks.

Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
